DES MOINES, IOWA (December 11, 2020) — The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) recently announced that it has awarded $143,892,544.40 to 11 broadband providers to bring broadband to rural Iowa. The Rural Digital Opportunity Fund Phase I Auction is a federal program focusing on bringing broadband to 10 million Americans.

MONMOUTH, ILLINOIS (December 10, 2020) — Monmouth College has received a grant to help the Monmouth-Warren County community intensify its battle against the COVID-19 virus.

The College has received a $150,000 grant from the Community Health Foundation of Warren and Henderson Counties to purchase 5,000 SHIELD Illinois tests, which the College will help administer to the Monmouth-Warren County community for a nominal fee.

Scammers see an opportunity as more people shop online, particularly during the pandemic. The Iowa Attorney General’s Office is urging consumers to be vigilant if they receive unsolicited calls or e-mails referring to purchases, deliveries, gift cards, or other issues involving Amazon or other retailers.
