Gifted artisans who have original works for sale in the Figge Art Museum's Museum Store will be celebrated during the Davenport venue's virtual Explore the Store event on December 3, with participants having to chance to meet (online) Sally Gierke, who fashions woodland creatures of clay while creating in her portable tent known as a yurt.

Delivered by curators Joshua Jackson and Vanessa Sage, a virtual, members-only tour of the new exhibition Haitian Masterworks will be presented on December 3, with participants given insight into the works selected and the history behind them – a collection focusing on prevalent themes in Haitian art including spirituality, transformation, the natural world, everyday life, and Haitian history.

Held in celebration of its new location on River Drive, Davenport's Art Legacy League will host an open house on November 20, with the special event boasting a ribbon-cutting, art activities, and demonstrations, and the group itself dedicated to honoring and preserving the artistic and teaching legacy of Father Edward M. Catich, whose works will be on display throughout the building.

Held in conjunction with the Davenport venue's current New American Scene: Recent Acquisitions to the Figge Collection, a November 19 Virtual Curator Talk will find the Figge Art Museum's Joshua Johnson introducing the latest Gildehaus Gallery exhibition, a showcase of natural depictions of American subjects, as well as numerous notable 20th-century artists and their timeless works.

With the program led by Assistant Curator Vanessa Sage, Davenport's Figge Art Museum will, on November 17, host a special online event for museum members in Virtual Deeper Dive: Mexican Colonial Collection, in which lesser-known works from the Figge's vast collection of Colonial art will be explored through fascinating facts about the paintings and their creators.

Held in conjunction with the venue's new exhibition Haitian Masterworks, the Figge Art Museum's Vanessa Sage and Joshua Johnson will host a Virtual Curator Talk on November 12 introducing this fascinating showcase for numerous gifted artists, with the Figge home to one of the largest collections of Haitian art in the United States.

A trio of gifted artists will gather online for a special November 5 event hosted by the Figge Art Museum, with the Davenport venue presenting Virtual Artist Talks with three talents who have works on display in the museum's current Seating by Design exhibition: Cahle Correll, Vinicius Lima, and Yi Xie.

Estate planning and other legal issues facing artists will be the subjects of the Figge Art Museum's Virtual Scholar Talk on October 29, with Iowa City attorney David Bright and artist T.J. Dedeaux-Norris discussing the legal efforts taken to preserve the artistic legacy and estate of Tameka Janean Norris, whose currently running Figge exhibit is designed to explore the complex legacy of an artist’s identity after their passing.

A series of arresting, colorful, large-scale paintings is currently filling the gallery at the Quad City Arts Center, with the Rock Island venue, through December 11, hosting Jaclyn Garlock: Extraordinary Women depictions of life-sized women engaging in non-salaried work from cooking to laundry to volunteering … and enjoying themselves as they do it.

On November 1, a traditional Mexican holiday will be celebrated online – and in interactive, family-friendly style – when Davenport's Figge Art Museum hosts its Virtual Family Fiesta focused on the Day of the Dead, a chance to celebrate and remember the lives of our lost loved ones through the collective traditions, art-making, and storytelling that are among its integral elements.
